Polish can't see!!!

Hi ya. I got 3 new 17wk old chickens last week and one was a buff laced polish.
She walks into and off things and even after cutting a the feathers from round her eyes she still can't see. I think she only sees light and shade.

I now can't add her to my 6 existing flock as worried they will pick on her as she is blind.

I did think I might try and get another polish for company and keep them in their own run. She is so sweet, loves cuddles and makes cute purring sounds.

My husband said take her back to the breeder but I feel I can't give up on her.


Am I being silly?

So did you get another Polish to keep your chickie company? If you did is it helping her? (I edited my comment so many times I edited out my questions.)

No I don’t think you are being silly, I have been looking at Polish or even a Polish Bantam for her I know she is partially blind I would say she is able to see the difference in brighter colors, maybe? I didn’t realize how impaired so was until her bestie disappeared, now we have 1 out of 3 chickens left and she is vision impared, she is 10 months old, I bought her a pink and red silicone bowls help. I have been spending time with her helping her do chicken things in the yard. I love her, she might need a chicken friend more than I need a human friend though.

My polish has heavy creamy and completely weights down and forces his eye closed. I trimmed the feathers right to the quill but it is still heavy and can't use that eye. What do i do? The bad eye has all white skin and wet allowed to the good side is red and healthy.
