This is my silver laced polish Nora. I feel foolish because all this time I thought her hair was growing in strange. But figured out she's actually having her feathers pecked out of her crest. Some of the shafts were bleeding yesterday. So today I wrapped masking tape around her crest to hide the exposed shafts and let them grow and heal. And I supervised as the other chickens wanted to peck at the tape on her head. Her sister who follows her everywhere you could tell was very concerned for her and her intentions were well to get this thing off. Anyway you can tell Nora was stressed by the attention she was getting from the tape. Mind you it had only been 15 mins that I put it on. Anyway I fed them treats hoping to deter the attention. Nora standing on an incline, was eat the food on the ground. When this mucousy white and clear substance plummeted out her beak.( I know chickens technically don't vomit) but this looked to be the equivalent to a chicken vomiting. I have never seen her or others do this. It wasn't hot out yet when this happened. I felt her crop and it felt pretty empty with a hint of squish. I have separated her in the run from the others to give her peace and let her eat and drink on her own. Any ideas what is wrong?
