Polish Chickens Breeding Chocolates

I am getting a WC chocolate frizzle Polish Roo and will be breeding him to my WC black hen for chocolate, black, and maybe some Khaki chicks... Now does anyone know what colors come from breeding a chocolate Roo to a buff laced, or blue hen? Any pics? Thanks

First off from wc chocolate and wc black you will only get black and chocolate, no khaki. The chocolate gene works like the blue gene.

I know that a bird carrying chocolate and blue is called platinum and if you search for dun sumatras on here there should be pictures. I have no clue how the percentages would turn out though sorry.

When breeding black x chocolate, you'll hatch approximately 50% black and 50% chocolate. In order for khaki to be produced, two copies of the dun gene must be present. Chocolate is the result of a bird being heterozygous for the gene.

Blue x chocolate produces 25% black, 25% blue, 25% chocolate, 25% platinum.

choc is present in the US; not too many though. I'm pretty sure it's in serama, maybe dutch and some gamebirds.

Platinum has been used (not a universal consensus, though) for birds carrying both dun and blue.

I must not have been clear, I never said that Dun is the same as platinum. The thread that platinum sumatras are on here at BYC is called Dun Sumatras.

Also this breeder is in the US so yes they are working with the Dun gene aka American hobby name Chocolate.

Agreed. Also I've heard of people working on Chocolate Japs using Seramas.​

this is a chart i saw awhile back but i haven't gotten into choc yet. i know it is for a different breed than polish but maybe this will help ya some.
