I noticed a few days ago and have since separated them from most of the other chicks which are rir's, and started applying vaseline to deter. I dont see any new pecking but how long will it take for new feathers to come in?

It's so baffling to me, like i was watching them before treatment and its the two polish girls doing it to each other and they just sit there and take it, not a flinch or anything. I heard polish were dumb but I didn't expect this lol

It may take a couple of weeks. It can help to keep the crests trimmed, and apply bluekote. I'd be careful housing them with RIR especially if your set up is smaller. They are nutty birds and can attract unwanted attention.

I separated them from the rirs but they kept pecking each other. I was applying vaseline to deter but it wasnt really working too well. Well, today i look and one of them has a little wound on their head now. So i said F it and made a partition in the middle of their brooder. Both have access to the cool side and hot side, and food and water. Thank you for your help. I know that the head bump is very sensitive and it could be a death sentence with excessive pecking.
