Ok so my duaghters 3rd grade class incubated and hatched chicks. They did 12 and had 9 hatch, I know they are polish but don't know what kind and not sure how to tell gender in these little chicks, so any help would be appreciated. They are just over 6 weeks old

Assuming that these are all purebred Polish, they are likely…

#1- Cuckoo Polish (I’m thinking cockerel)
#2- Blue Polish
#3- White crested black Polish
#4- White Polish
#5- White Polish
#6- Paint Polish (probably a white over a white crested black)
#7- Looks like a mixed color Polish as its crest is mostly black
#8- Also looks like a mixed color Polish

Only #1 really looks like a cockerel at this point. #4 and #5 also look like they could be cockerels, but it’s too early to tell.

Polish generally take a bit longer to sex. Update in 2-4 weeks for a more accurate sexing.

I am assuming they are as the people that donate all the fertilized eggs and incubators for the 3rd graders are from 4h
