Chick, you an your DH are BOTH a couple of troopers! Y'all have been amazing through all this. And, I might add, an inspiration to me. I'm doing steps (stairs) now and having not much pain, getting stronger every day. I often find myself walking around the house without a cane!

Chick, my DH loves it plain. Me, not so much. I used to put a tablespoon of real maple syrup on top of mine (I made it in half-pint jarelly jars) when I was ready to eat it. I guess I could do sugar-free syrup now. You could add a dollop of your favorite jam or jelly instead. My hens are going into molt so I may make a batch now that my second fridge is not full of eggs!

Awww shucks. Being stubborn and determined survivors is in our genes. He's Scottish, I'm Pennsylvania Dutch and Cherokee with a little Irish thrown in for good measures. Makes us survivors. I told DH tonight that I was so proud of how he went through a month of sheer hell and never complained once. He said that complaining didn't help. I say all you can do is dig in with your heels and get through the rough patch.

I'm just glad that the long trips to Liberty are over at least for the time being. We got home today, DH laid down for a nap and I set down after puttering around the house for an hour to watch some vintage Star Trek and fell asleep on the sofa. We used to do 6 hours of driving without blinking. Now we need tooth picks to hold our eyes open.

I'm glad that we are an inspiration for you. Keep up the good work. I know how much those knees hurt when they flare. Push though it is all you can do but yep, you have come a long ways also and what an inspiration you are for doing that!

Thank you for the kind words. They mean a lot to us. If we can inspire people to not give up then the pain is worth the effort.

Tom got up at 10 so I helped him back to bed. I swear, he is breaking my heart. He looks so pitiful. weak eyes, tired. I checked his sugar after I got him in bed the first time. It was over 450.
Robert made me a box of hot chocolate pudding. yummy

Troyer, Robert mixed the chocolate and hazelnut creamer together and came up with Nutello flavored. Not too shabby.
