HI everyone I need some advice,
I have a polish crested who I bought who didn't have any feathers due to plucking from previous flock. Then once I brought her home the same thing happened to her within my coop if girls and almost everyday she had a bloody head.

I used EVERYTHING from Vaseline to the Rooster Booster no pick lotion and they still went at her.
She's been in my basement recovering for 2 months now and had a lot of regrowth. So I went to put her back with the flock earlier this week and it started AGAIN!!! I intervened before it could get any worse they only picked a couple but enough to draw blood.
Does anyone have ANY OTHER recommendations for what I can do to stop this picking??? I wanted to show her this summer but I cant if she doesnt have feathered crest and she cant stay in my basement forever
thank you guys!!!

The crest feathers are the first thing other chickens will go after, especially since they see her as a threat because you may not have slowly integrated her into the flock. . If I were you, I would place her in a large cage with food and water in the coop with the others. She will need to be reintroduced all over. I have had 2 polish chickens in a large mixed flock, and although this happened to them several times, it finally ceased. Nustock cream may help discourage the picking, since it is a bad tasting yellow cream that will also help healing. You may want to keep her caged until you stop showing her. I will never get more crested chickens, even though they are very interesting, because of this pecking issue.

I have a Polish Rooster who has had his puff of feathers pulled out for the last two years. It usually starts when moulting. The only thing that has worked for me is to keep him away from the other chickens, even the bantams, since he is my only Polish.

I used all kinds of stuff on his head, even powder, but nothing worked. How old is she? My Polish takes forever to get his full puff back, but he's nine years old. Is she a White Crested Polish?

She is only about 6 months old recently started laying

Crested breeds are better off not being housed with non crested breeds. Non crested breeds see those head feathers as attractive and will pull feathers. Crested breeds tend to not see as well, making them skittish and more prone to getting picked on among non crested breeds.
