Polish Crested

Hi,
We are new to raising chickens and have a question about one of our chickens. We have 1 polish crested rooster and it seems that the feathers on his head are impairing his vision. We can hardly see his eyes. It seems like when the kids throw out treats you can put it right in front of him and he doesn’t even see it and the others grab it. Do you have to pluck the feathers for them to see? Thanks for and information.

You don’t have to pluck them BUT it is wise to trim the feathers away so they can see better

Trimming is better, if you fully pluck them new feathers will just grow right back.
