Polish Getting Pecked

I really appreciate all the advice thank you I was worried about separation too long being an issue Soo I could accept him being crestless but sometimes whoever the heck is pecking him is really rough about it . I'm feeling like the best solution for him is a better home with just him and some nicer chickens .
He went after my head hen once ....she chased his ass all over the yard lolol He hasn't been near her since lol
You have to do what feels right. You can try isolation first, if that proves to not work then yes maybe you should begin looking for a new flock home for him. Lol they sound like a comical group!

Ya know I'm still new to this but everything else otherwise is going smoothly . Before I got into this I had no idea chickens would have Soo much personality ,I love these nuts they are my gang of chickens literally. My husband said he watched the neighbors cat try to pass through the yard and they all ganged up on him and chased him out lolol I don't worry much about that cat btw he's scared of chickens his owner who has chickens let me know he wasn't ever threat to his chickens .

I had an awesome little polish bantam roo and he had his crest plucked. He was the only roo at the time and I never could figure out who was doing it. I ended up giving him to a friend. I just felt it was in his best interest. I miss having him, but I had to do what I felt was best for him. He's happy now and his new flock is more tolerant of his flamboyant appearance. Not saying that's the right decision for you. Just telling my experience with the same situation.

I am currently looking for a home for him but I will be picky I want to make sure he gets treated well . Until then I'm keeping him safe :)

I'd like to try and separate him out but he's really the only one taking care of all the ladies right now and he's doing a great job . I have the day off tomorrow and a lot of gardening to do so I'm gonna sit out there all damn day and watch if I have to . I'm wondering if it's occurring in the early am before I get them out of the coop ?? Everyone is very ancy to get out maybe it's happening then because I never see anyone Peck him out ranging , certainly isn't at night everyone passes right out

In an interesting turn of events it's seems we are doing much better . He literally just started crowing like a month ago and he's really become a good boy looking after the ladies and the younger boys . Even when I go to close your the coop at night Jimmy See's me coming he rounds everyone up & gets them in the coop for me . No more feather pecking is making me wonder if he's getting better respected for actually defending himself .?? I don't know but his crest is growing in real nice I can't wait to see it in full.
I think Jimmy and I now have a good mutual respect he let's me fix his boo boo's I don't interrupt him doing his job lol
