At the moment I only have my Buff Laced Roo, but the flock I had to give up included 4 WCB. I absolutely loved them. One of them was my favorite. Her name was Pulleta. She laid her first egg about 3 weeks after I got her and she laid 4-5 eggs per week. Usually 5. My others laid 5-6 per week.
Pulleta was always right there to let me know when the other 3 and my Dom were picking on her. All in all my Polish were mellow, a bit skiddish (except Pulleta) and laid pretty well. I was never without eggs from them. They were also a quieter than my other breeds. Ummm except Magic who would sing her egg song for everyone else, or when she was laying, or just when she was thinking about laying. She would even climb into the nest box to coach! LOL
You have to be sure you keep water in containers that keep them from getting their crests wet. They are kind of DUMB! when it come to finding the coop at night or when it rains. Can't tell you how many times we had to hunt with flashlights to find them and set them on the roost. LOL
They are fun birds. I have WCBPs in the bator now, but no pips yet.
Due today!
I also have some BL that are due later in the month. I sure hope something happens with all of these eggs. I ordered so many the last 2 months and then my mom passed away last month and my dad the first of this month. Seems things are just not going well since then, but I'm hopefull.
I say get you some Polish and get ready to be amused.
