Okay, so anyone had luck with a big rooster breeding with a small hen such as a polish or bantam? I am looking for an opportunity to have a half-polish cross.

If the hen submits willingly, squats down to brace herself on the ground, and he has good technique, it should be fine.

My Polish Roo breeds my little silkie (we call them the royal couple they are always together), I have one of their offspring.

I wouldn’t want any larger a breed in with my silkies though. Polish are slender light birds, at least Mr P is.
