Polish - Is this a roo?

The saddle feathers aren't pointed -- they just curve. A lot of hens have curvy saddle feathers. And the crest isn't wild like male Polish have. It is neat and "organized." ("Organized hair..."

) So I say you have a pullet on your hands.

Yup that was my thinking as well. Not all of my Roosters crow as of yet and they were hatched in April. The tail feathers say a lot to me. As i said i hatched 17 roosters and am learning fast about Roosters / hens.

mine crowed early, but a litter mate to him didnt crow till months later

It's funny how "off" some of them are. I have quit a few not crowing, some do the half crow and some three really have it down big, bold and loud!

Granted this is Claude....eee ah since I spent quite a bit of time thinking she was a he. More aggressive than the two other girls...some comb development and once saw her mount a hen.....still she is a she....even if she is a bit butch.

looks like a roo we just had some chickens start crowing and they are around 9 months

we raise and show this breed. This is a very pretty golden laced polish pullet. The cockerels of this age have the laced breast and very glossy red/golden saddle feathers, MUCH longer and pointer tail feathers, and very spiky crests with a comb in front. Their crests are also red and black, rather than black and gold laced as in the photo. They seriously look like they have dread locks and my boys call them Jamaican Chickens. I personally think that they look more like medicine men. Anyway, you just have a pullet with attitude.
