Polish pictures

@rfulenwider I think so too. The black one seems to guard the other chick and be on the look out like a rooster. I'm pretty upset I drove 2 hours and paid extra for them to be pullets. I should of done my research more. The breeder has since turned off their phone so I have no way of getting a hold of them unless I drive 2 hours. I'll take it as a loss and will be smarter in the future. I can't separate (they are young, still peep, and haven't became a part of my flock) them yet but will eventually find a home if ether of them turns out to be a Roo.

I got my polish rooster as a free chick and have ordered him 3 polish hens (2silver and a buff laced) for January

. I would have never known I liked the breed without seeing Elvis grown!

Hi there! I don't have any pics of NY polish couple yet :) but I DO have a question. My hen is actually a Polish marans cross. I haven't been able to find much about this mix and I'm just incredibly curious what color eggs she might lay! Anyone have any ideas? (Dad was a marans mom polish) thanks in advance! I'll be sure to post pictures of them when its not raining here in Maine! :)

I clip the feathers above their eyes when they start blocking their view. I feel like it inhibits their ability to protect themselves. I have some very frisky roosters and an occasional chicken hawk fly over.

Hello all, I tried to go back and read over the past pages but so many. I have 2 polish hens who are 28 weeks old and was wondering when the start to lay.

@Momma2bellas I would say they should lay any day. I thought a general rule for most chickens was they should start laying around 6 months old. To encourage my girls to lay I added nesting box curtains, fresh herbs, and golf balls. I got my first egg from my Orpington at 23 weeks yesterday. Also at 18 weeks old I changed to layer feed and I always offer oyster shells.
