Is it true that if a Polish has a wattle at all it is a roo? (Please-say-it-ain't-so!)

Thank you. I never get a response to my questions, so I thought I was doing something wrong. Good to know somebody's there!

Im here-but you posted on my thread and I was hoping to see the answer-but no one answered you :-( Im in the same boat as you :)

OH YEA!!!! I have a reprieve!!! Out of three black with white crests at about 16 weeks, I'm pretty sure one's a Roo, one's a Pullet, and the other has a tiny, tiny wattle.

Polish are late layers, starting up at 8-sometimes 10 months. Not sure what that means in your case, but big wattles should mean roo. In my experience, White Crested Blacks develop differently than other colors of Polish. Not sure why.

Uh-Oh. After reading another thread and looking at their pictures, all three of mine have 'Patti Labelle' heads, not 'Mohawk City'.

I have noticed the same thing about white crested blacks! My crevecouer is the same way too...it seems like the black ones get larger wattles, even pullets. But the key for sexing is the age that the wattles appear. Red growing wattles as a chick=rooster almost always. By the time the pullets grow bigger wattles it should be obvious that they are pullets...
