I have a website. I'm so excited! I never thought a computer idiot like me could do one, but I sat down on Saturday with iWeb and Ta Da! Everyone needs to come visit. It's at http://www.swpoultry.com
This is where I put the page on sexing Polish chicks.

I have currently 2 Polish.. I used to have 3 but we live kind of next to the woods and since she had a tophat she couldn't see and got eaten up

Just got 15 wonderful GLP eggs! My only decision now is do I let my silkies hatch them or the incubator?

Incubator-my excitement and experience

Silkies-really easy, I don't have to do anything

I have a baby chick question, My Polish eggs are hatching RIGHT NOW!!! but the one that hatch yesterday, isn't really fluzzy/fluffy yet...only parts of her is...

does this happen a lot? does it take a long time to fluff up?

What do i do, to un-stick her? I'm not doing anything right now, she's still in the bator...

thanks
melinda

sounds like your humidity was too low for the hatch and all the leftover "after birth" in the shell dried to her. feel her, if her down feels crusty and stiff, that's what is happening, only way to get it off is with a damp warm cloth but dont over soak her and get her chilled. if it's not super heavy, lot of times you can play with it dry and break it up some without wetting her. It can be aggravating, but needs to be gotten off her so she cam move easily

You'll get multiple answers to this question. We hatch at 70% humidity, this is what we found works the best. Make sure that your hygrometer is accurate. I had one for awhile that was off and this affected our hatches drastically.

I hatch at 70 or close as well.
