So i was lucky enough to meet some very nice Khaki Polish...
Im trying to convince my brother to stop with the orps and get some polish!!! BUT i would be at the same shows as Jan Brett so i would probally get my butt kicked by her WCBP! haha
I had a hard time taking his picture, when I got close they all come running, when I'm far away the picture is worse than this one...
Here's my one and only polish...WCB cuckoo, Phil. His tail feathers are a lil off. He's got a couple of long white ones.. And on one of his wings, there's one feather that has a white tip....
If I breed him with a plain WCB, would that fix things?
I've got a question. These two birds hatched out of Polish eggs, but didn't have vaulted skulls. They have just a little bit of feathering on their legs, so I'm guessing Polish/Frizzle crosses. Does anybody think they might be useful in a Tolbunt breeding program?
Those look like they could be Polish/Cochin crosses that are frizzled. Frizzle isn't a breed. As for using them in a Tolbunt program, I personally wouldn't, because you would have a long way to go to get Tolbunt.
Quote:
agreed, color looks red crested red, or possible black tailed red.
Some weaker line, or crosses will not have the big vault when hatched. Those are definatelt crossed though from the feathers on the legs.
And yes, tolbunt is way off, more less a mottled golden is the best aproach to starting them
Been checking out everyone's GORGEOUS birds here - mind if I post a few of mine? Some of you may have seen these before - I use these shots in my egg ads:
BTW, I'm on the hunt for gold laced Polish eggs - I know its a bad time of year for eggs, but does anyone have any girls still laying?
