Got these eggs from Lucinda at Green Acre Farms. Traded hens for a roo and hen from Gretchen at Bare Necessities Farm a few weeks ago, but unforunately, mine got lost in the mail.

A buff hen was dead when I finally got them after 6 days and the tolbunt roo died a couple of days later. Just too stressed. Still haven't gotten over that! Needless to say, I won't be trusting the PO for grown birds ever again. Unless of course I can find a tolbunt roo that's SQ and doesn't cost me my first born to buy!

By the way my hens just started laying about a month ago, so I'm testing for fertility.

So sorry for your loss.

I've got some birds expected in the mail soon, they're my first shipped birds, and I sure hope that they won't go through that. It's only across the state after all.

Well, I'm very excited for you on your eggs!

That's Curly Sue. Strangest looking thing you ever did see! Have got to give her a hair cut so that she can see better. She's becoming quite spastic when you go in the pen. Of course she is the roo's favorite,(quess it's the curls:D) and she is just terrified of him. Spends most her time behind the nest box hiding!

I have no interest in breeding tolbunt but if you need a good home for a cull I would be interested. I am enchanted with these. I have GL polish now and they are so funny. I am within driving distance (I don't like the idea of mailing them either). So if you get to the point where you need a good loving home for a cull I would happily pay. Mine are pets and spoiled highly! I was trying not to have roosters since I don't want to deal with the breeding so I would prefer a hen....although I seriously think the three polish I have are actually roosters! ugh

Well like I said, just sent one of my hens to Gretchen in exchange for a roo. So I am minus a hen and no roo either. I am going to try to hatch these eggs from the cross with the GL roo and see what happens. Check with me this spring, I'll know more about what I'm getting then. Hopefully I can find a good tolbunt roo in the meantime.

Ohhh you'll know... they sound like someone stepping on a whoopie cushion! My roo Thadeus sounds rediculous.

Isn't that the truth! Mine sound pitiful when they crow, but they love to hear themselves.

So far no egg and no crow. One I am absolutely sure is a roo. The other two not positive yet. Either way I will have to keep them. They are my babies.
