So I just ran to check the color of the earlobes and they appear white. That said, these guys are still very young. Hatched out Decemeber 21. Can the red develop later?
Also these black birds have really nice beards already, and the roo is crowing.
Let me know if you need a roo for your project

The ears won't change colour. I have raised Crevecoeurs and they develop more slowly than Polish; also have black beaks....

My bearded white bantams win as often as my WC blacks. They are just lovely but not nearly as good layers. There's nothing cuter than a good frizzle Polish in bearded white!!

Actually I am looking for anything other than WCBlack and silver laced in LF. I want quality stock that have show potential (which is why I don't just make life easy & order from a hatchery). I figure if I'm gonna breed I should do it right even if I don't show them myself. For me there's no point if I'm not trying to do the best I can for the breed.

Hi Polish Lovers!
I am new to chickens, and am looking to learn what I can. I got some hens and a roo from a lady in Florida, but my roo died. The hens have golden feathers with white edges or else they are white with some black( splash, right?). Anyway, a lady I know bought four chickens from a feed store(I think they came from Cackle) and three were roos, so she gave me a red/black roo. What is weird to me is that mostly so far I have splash with lots more black and a couple that look like they are a silver pencilled color. How are these colors inherited anyways? I wish I knew how to post pics, but alas my "grannyness " comes through when it comes to computers. I would like to work on improving my stock, and these silver colors interest me. Can you tell me what acceptable colors are for Polish? Thanks, Deb

So we have black beaks and feet , white earlobes, possibly fused middle toes. Hmmm, not crevies? Not Polish? Could they be poorly bred Houdans?
