Honestly? In terms of SOP? I think he's the skinniest I've ever seen.
I mean, no offense meant to you and I'm not saying he's underfed, he's just. . . Really thin, both in body and in bone. He's cute though!
Here's a few new photos of my laced girls. They're all hatchery stock, and definite proof that hatcheries can offer good and bad. I was really, really lucky with the "good" part though.
This is "Oscura." This is where I struck it rich. She's a little over 2 years old now, so she's got a lot of white in the crest, but otherwise - She's amazing! I'll be keeping a lot of offspring from her this year. Her crest is clipped, yet still shows how full-sized it is, she's got a very full beard/muffs, she's got a nicely angled tail, good body, and best of all - Phenomenal lacing for a hatchery Polish!
And, here's the complete opposite. This is "Spangles," an extremely underweight, small crested, small bearded, leggy, squirrel-tailed, and practically spangle patterned girl. She's about a year old. Still do like her though.
And onto the golden side of things. . . Here's two new arrivals, "Turtle" and "Pecan."
One has more black, one has less black. One has a nice tail, one has a tail too high in angle. One is currently laying, the other is holding onto it for a little bit longer.
And, a couple White Crested Blacks (
and a gorgeous buff ameraucana) The hen on the right is the sweetest hen one could ever find. Her favorite thing to do is perch on my shoulder and watch what I'm doing. If she can't get up on my shoulder or my lap, she'll find something to get up on. And if not that, she just wants to be around me.
As I'm sure you may have noticed, all of my hens have clipped crests. This is Washington. . . It gets VERY wet and mucky here.
