So the last pictures shows that I use a water bottle sold at any pet store and specifically used for hamsters etc. For larger fowl I am intending to buy a similar nipple affair and placing it into a hole drilled out of the bottom of a 5 gallon container with a lid, such as the buckets that contain paint and other stuff. They sell them in Home Depot clean. There are cups for watering small birds that many use for their bantams and other folks have PVC troughs with a cup type dispenser or the nipple valve type. Look up this stuff under care of and feeding.

For one of my roos, I put his crest into a ponytail! He didn't seem to mind, and he walked around for a while dumbfounded at all he could see!!

id like to start by saying what a wonderful breed of chickens the polish are. However they get a bit curious. I had a beautiful blue polish who was always extremely curious. One day he decided to try and journey outside of the safety of his run, so he jumped into the netting above it. I was in puerto rico at the time and couldnt rescue him after he was caught by his foot. I arrived home the next day horrified to find him dangling upside down...dead...from the netting in a 1000 ways to die scenario. Luckily his many children will carry on his legacy. A word to all you wise polish owners: dont give your chickens any ways to hang themselves. They'll find a way to do it.

Sorry about your Polish. Yes, combine the curiosity with not being able to see very well and they can get into a lot of trouble. Thank you for the reminder.

I just looked at your profile, we are almost neighbors. My buff Polish just hatched 8 chicks today--finally! 7 look like buff and one little oddball is dark.
