the standards call for slate legs, but cuckoos have lighter get color.

the only one i have born with dark leggs are my solid blues and blacks

From what I've read and heard the cuckoo color in polish won't produce slate legs.
All cuckoo birds have I'm guessing spotted or light pinkish color legs, white I guess ???
I've never owned them so have never really looked into their genetic background.

All the info on the cuckoo color should be on the polish club website.

On another note BYC I have dispersed my entire flock of polish all colors and project colors birds are gone.

I've decided to keep my bearded silver laced polish bantams only. Had too many polish and color projects on my plate.

Stay tuned BYC for the progress on my future generations of silver laced polish bantams

This year I've only kept 3 trios of silver laced polish for my breedings.

From the WC Cuckoo/WC Blue combination you can get WC Black, Blue, Cuckoo, and Blue Cuckoo. It looks like you have a WC Blue. Blues come in all shades. That is a very light one. Lacing will come in later.

It sure is a little sassy thing! I have the brooder in the master bath and I started to notice little piles of poop on the floor. It flys out of the brooder and walks around my bathroom! Looks like I need to fix that! Time to move to the outside brooder! I think this one is a "he" but not sure yet.

I have a quick question which hopefully someone can answer for me. Is this polish a paint? Do they come in paint or is it a splash? It looks more white to me with black markings. I have splash birds just not polish and they are much greyer and this one looks like it is white.

ETA: It was spring in this picture and it was a bit dirty. Now that its summer it is much whiter.

Oh and does it look like a pullet or cockeral? Oh an lf or bantam? The bottom pick is it with my bantam cochins for size and color reference. I bought at auction which is why all the questions. I got it to be a friend to my bantam wc black who of course died two months after I got it. I am still trying to decide whether or not to keep it. The wc black was a very hard keeper she was constantly getting lost and her crest was so big that she never could see even when I trimmed, there was a few feathers that would poke her in the eye. This one seems to see better but is still scittish its so funny, when I scare it it flies way up into the air. I try not to scare it to much as I wouldn't want it to have a heart attack.

After you mentioned the leg color I went out and checked my new chicks. The "oddball" dark chick has dark legs and the rest have light colored legs

The hens are two very different shades of buff

This is a pic of the trio that had one dark chick and the rest are light. I wonder if it will be a gold laced?

elieugene6 Looks like a dirty but happy blue splash pullet to me. I can not guess the size but you can sent her to me.

Polish do require special care if you want to show them. Looks as if your birds have plenty of space to be free so I guess that the other birds are not bothering the Polish ? I need to keep mine away from my little evil dive showgirl who bullies the polish. I plan on putting her back with the standard flock to see what it is like to be small.
