These are chicks from a buff polish hen and are a few days old. There was an EE, white silkie and black silkie roo in with the hen. No fuzzy feet or extra toes. Anyone want to guess who the babies daddy is? Any comments or suggestions appreciated.
The green legs and lack of foot fuzz make me think the EE was the father to all three of these. #2 also has very defined cheek fluff, but all three breeds in question can have beards/muffs so that is not much of a factor.
Love the little tufts of crest fluff on #3's face.
The white one could very well be the mom. there are a few different types of 'white' and not all are dominant.Below the white are still genetics for other colors. She could be a recessive white [turns both browns and blacks to white, needs two copies to show] with black laced golden hidden under there.
Buff Polish are usually white laced buff, the white lacing comes from dominant white, which turns only the blacks to white, this is dominant so any of her chicks would have white markings where there would be black. Dominant white will even turn full-body black[extended black] to white.
