I think this is the breed I have decided on getting..but i just want a roo. Do they tend to breed the girls less because they can't see??

I was thinking of ordering them in the spring, but I only want one, due to lack of space for anymore.

Mine are a little jumpy but calm down when I pick them up.

They will eat out of my hand too.

I got them just to have something different and now I really like them, they have good personalities and good temperament.
My grandmother just adores them. She lives in a senior apartment complex but always says if she lived out in her own house, she would have a yard full of them.

Mine are pretty friendly. And very entertaining! They are some goofy birds.

Bec, if Claud is too far from you and you are interested--I might have an extra Polish roo in the next few weeks. It would be a white crested black, large fowl, '07 hatch, from show quality stock (I can't guarantee that the roo will be show quality himself). I'm acquiring a couple more pairs for my breeding pen and I probably won't be keeping all of the roos. I'm about 2 1/2 hours from Dover, DE, though I could possibly meet somewhere closer. PM me if you're interested.

I am in central PA - about an hour north of Harrisburg - about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Dover. That's a bit of a drive. I'd love to find the little guy a good home though. Email me if you want to arrange something. My daughter would love to find him a home - the day I took the rest of the roos to the poultry processing place she came home from school and, looking pale, says "Where's Fuzz? I am NOT eating Fuzz!" LOL

Mine is pretty docile. She doesn't prefer to be held or petted, but she doesn't object to anybody walking right to her and scooping her up. I guess it would be more accurate to say that she's tame, but not affectionate.

She is also partially blind from cataracts, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. She's not clipped either.

I posted this photo on another topic.... but saw this one so i thought I'd share here too.

My polish are not what I'd call friendly. They are pretty dumb though. I have one Buff Laced girl I named Paris..... because she is sooo blonde LOL.

This is her brother. In this photo you can almost hear him say.... "Duh, what?"
