Polk plant?

The berries are NOT poisonous! But the seeds are. A bit like yew trees really.

Never mind, they didnt like it anyway so will most likely root the plant up and put it on the compost heap as its looking a bit Fallish.

Probably your best bet overall. These things really spread like wildfire. I had one start a few years ago in my yard. Then, a number came up the next year here and there. I moved them all into one bed, because I tried the spring greens and it is really delicious -- tastes like asparagus, but texture is like spinach. Last year, lots of purple berries. This year, I'm fighting seedlings everywhere by the thousands. I won't make that mistake again. The berries aren't quite ripe, I'm going to go out and whack them all down and dispose of the tops so they can't seed all over again. They are worth keeping IMO for the spring greens, but I don't want them to spread.
