Fast is only getting worse. They're so understaffed. I try to thank them unless they do a really bad job. No use dumping on the ones that DID show up to work.
My Grandma used to make a dish like this. There was less liquid and some tomatoes added. She served it over rice. I know it sounds crazy, but it was sooo good and I still make it sometimes and serve it as a main dish. I think there was some garlic, onion and bell pepper as seasoning as well.
