I say Puh-Cawn but down south I'm in the minority
Perhaps this is regional but I've heard it said all sorts of ways so lmk how you say it!

Most of my family is from the Northern region of the states, I was born and bred southern but I don't sound like it. I've heard this debate among southerners mostly, it seems like most say Pea-Can but the drawlier folks do say Puh-Cawn

I was always told one pronounced it as their grandmother did. In my case Pea Con

Thanks, that makes more sense. The 'w' was making me give it more of an 'or' sound, kind of like to rhyme with a chicken's bagawk.

After considering, I think I say peh con when I'm talking about just the nuts but I say Pea con pie. I don't think I say pea con except for the pie. Odd.
