Poll: What breed was your loudest roo, frequent crower, etc?

I'm doing the math, and my kids could get through college and come home and still have the same birds...and they're 11 and 13!! How interesting!

My earliest crower was 5 WEEKS! An Eygyptian Fayoumi

and the week he started crowing, we had a hard freeze, so I brought them back in the house for a few days. I had to lock him in the bathroom (no windows)every nite.

This was our first year to have straight run chicks. We ended up with 3 cockerels: a Silver Ameraucana who crowed at 8 weeks, an Olive Egger (75% black copper marans & 25% blue ameraucana) who crowed at 7 weeks, and a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana who still hasn't crowed at 12 weeks. We live in a subdivision in town so DH said no roos due to city noise ordinance. We found a home with a fellow BYCer for the Silver Am. As soon as he was gone, the little black OE began crowing. He only crowed in the AM from 6:15-6:30 until 7:00. I just kept him in the house in a dog kennel so the neighbors wouldn't complain. Two weeks of that and we found him a home on 3 1/2 acres with his own little flock of girls. The BW AM gets to stay until he starts crowing. We are hoping that he is a late bloomer!

The freaking silkie roos I've had have been super long crowers! They sound like someone is trying to strangle a cow!
