i keep chickens for eggs from hens that are having a happy life as opposed to being crammed in a tiny cage inhumanely. they will,hopefully,soon be shredded sandwiches given they are 6 years old and will be living fine to the end.plus i just have a fondness for their behavior-very fun to watch! from ohio

I agree, we just love our girls too, and the eggs ARE the bonus!!

i've always liked them, reminds me of the farm life, i've had chickens now for 13 yrs and will until i croak, eggs are nice, chicks are even better, i love to hear them crow, i have about 10 roosters and love every minute of it, i order chicks every year even if i only order a few, i've had about 45 different breeds and varieties thanks to the assortments i would get, i'm going to start specializing in mottled cochin bantams and russian orloffs, that's my chicken saga
