I am completely new to chickens and farming in general. I should really say that we are. My man and I are slowly starting our retirement farm at a snails pace. Right now we have 5 "normal" chickens (a rooster and 4 hens). We also have a chicken with a bad leg from before she hatched. She lives inside for now. We hope that she'll be a good brooder. We only have banthams right now but are also interested in bramans. In separate facilities of course.

He is a motorcycle mechanic and I am a cook. Besides the chickens we have 4 dogs on 5 acres. We live in an RV and are looking forward to good things.

G’Day from down under Pollito Neuvo :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

You do not need to have separate facilities for bantams and Standard LF chickens. I have both together and for over 20 years had no problems with them getting along. Of course the large ones usually are higher in the pecking order. You will have that regardless of your chicken
assortment. Main thing to avoid problems,,,,,, avoid overcrowding.. :thumbsup
Welcome..... :welcome
