Noticed this morning that our 3 chicks started pecking at polystyrene lining. Have corrected condition. Is there a danger to chicks if they've consumed some of the polystyrene?

I’m glad you corrected the problem.
They should be fine but monitor them to make sure they are pooping.

One time I made the silly mistake of using a board of insulation foam in my coop.

The next morning I went out to check on them and there was MUCH NOISE AND CHATTER COMING FROM INSIDE.

I wish I’d had a camera at that very moment.
When I opened the door it surprised them and they all froze in place.

It looked like a snow globe explosion.

And the static electricity in the cold had it stuck all over them like icecream cones rolled in sprinkles.

Oh man. It was priceless!

I corrected that too although it took all morning.

I had to bring the shopvac out to vacuum it all up!

They'll probably be okay. :fl Chicken will eat any type of insulation, or insulating board, that you don't cover with plywood or something. Mine haven't been ill, but I too learned!
