Pond Heater

Looking for recommendations for a heater for our duck pond (preformed plastic liner type). I see a few types at local stores and then many options online.

Any brands/types that work well? Floating or sinking? What's the best to protect my ducks while the heater is in the pond? Our pond is the 100 gallon size.
