pond release?

i have a pond where i keep my 3, adult boys. the babies just turned 7 weeks old and are spending all day on the pond so i decided tonight will be the night they get to spend their first night on it. are they old enough, i’m pretty sure this is the age my other babies went onto the pond too? also there is no snapping turtles that i know of, but we do have an otter. would they eat a duck?

An otter might eat a duckling, and they are just the right size to be taken by a Great Horned Owl.

Any meat-eating animal in your area would gladly take your ducklings for dinner.

Ducks of any age shouldn't be housed outside in an insecure area, period. You let them out there, you won't have any ducks left after a few weeks, we are just trying to warn you.

i have my other ducks, after over a year. its a fenced in pond, with no snapping turtles

Didn't you just have an injured drake? how is he doing? and I see a potential problem with have mature drakes and young 7 week old females out on a pond. Raping and possibly drowning them.

he’s doing good, and is healed. the pond is huge so they can be apart but they all seem to stick together (the girls follow the boys around now)

no, i was outside with them for like 4-5 hours and i saw them all getting along perfectly. the boys even chased away a mallard boy who was following the girls around
