Pond weed ok?

Is it ok to feed my chickens pond weed?
My neighbours pond is totally covered in it and wants to get rid, so me always being after anything thats free wondered if its ok to feed to my birds.
I'm assuming it is just the common old pond/duck weed! Its teeny tiny leaves and it floats on the surface and is a bright green.

Duck weed is an excellent treat.
Very nutritious.
I would gladly take it all.
