Well, Mine won't be gettin' one!! I'll be interested to see what people say here. Cuz I'm not sure I can manage one in the winter. (mine are in a kiddie pool)
Okay that would be Tx and Fla. LOL!! We get negative temps here in the midwest! I think the kiddie pools would crack after a hard freeze. My duckies will have to muddle through til spring.
They don't need to, but they'd probably appreciate it if you could give them something to swim in every now and then - even if it is just a small pan of water - will let them clean themselves up better and play around a little bit. Dump and repeat another day.
This is my first winter with ducks and it gets below zero sometimes here in IA. I use a kiddie pool now but I think I might try a pond heater in mine and see if the pool can take it.
Im in Upstate NY. Ducks always need enough too bathe. My runners only have a single Cement Mixing tray in the winter and always have access to a nice dry place to preen.
