No more eating cat poop talk!

Reminds me of catching my Rat Terrier in the act and him turning around with litter caked all over his wiskers and mouth
...just not right

My 9 yo Lab just started doing this 2 weeks ago. I took her to the vet on Monday and the vet did some tests and found out she has a bladder infection

I asked him what a bladder infection had to do with eating poop and he said the white blood cells in her urine were causing her body to fight the infection and draining her of certain nutrients. So, he put her on antibiotics and said she should stop eating poop. I don't know how this will turn out but we have 7 more days to see.

Our puppy Pippi has found the COVERED litter box this week (it even has a door on it) she has been enjoying litter box crunchies ever since then, we cant move the box out of her way as she is smaller than the cat is and where the cat can fit so can Pippi lol So we just try our best to keep her away from that area!!

I to have heard that using meat tenderizer can work, also forbid, and distaste are other products.

Our old Chihuahua would do this, and the Vet told us she wasnt absorbing nutrients from the food and would eat it to get them! YUCK

There is a really great product sold by Dr. Foster & Smith called DisTaste. Wasn't really that expensive and it completely stopped Diesel from his poo snacking. Then again, that was nearly 9 years ago!

I have a friend who put a fair amount of garlic in her JRTs' food every meal for a while. They like the taste of the garlic when they eat the food, but the effect it has on the poop makes them really not want to eat it. It worked really well, they just had awful garlic breath (guess it's better than poo breath).

I have a dachshund who just loves to eat....anything! Including pewp. Prior to the dachshunds, I had a pomeranian who snacked at the cat box.
So when those dachsys (they're 10) go to dog heaven, no more dogs. I have learned that I am not a dog person. I enjoy my one cat and my chickens. The dogs have just grossed me out one too many times.
