poo on but?

Hey Everyone,
I am new to chicks...and have only had mine since Friday. Today I noticed that they all have poo clumped to their bums.
Are they sick? They are active and eating good...drinking also. Should I put something in their water?

Any advice, would be awesome.

Get a soft cloth and wet it with warm water and get it off as soon as possible. If they can't poop, they won't make it. You may have to run their butts under water if it caked too bad. Just make sure it is warm water and you dry them and get them back under the light as soon as possible so they warm back up.

Deffinately remove it! They can actually get clogged up and Die! They may be too warm. It can cause pasty butt. It could really be alot of things. I usually use a tub of warm water and a syringe. I will give it a good soaking . maybe 2-3 minutes of gentle squirting. Then it usually just rubs right off. If I can I will actually hold them in my hand, head between my thumb and forfinger, standing in my palm. Lower them in to 100 degree water just deep enough to get there butts wet. Then gently rub and remove the clump with the other. You can use a wet rag but i have found this to be much faster. You may also try dripping wett q tips but this takes for ever too. Drip, rub, drip, rub, drip, rub.....etc stress and heat are the main 2 for new chicks. Are they staying away from the heat lamp, panting, and so on? If so raise the lamp some. It should be 90-95 degrees at chick level. and minus 5 degrees every week until equal to outside temp.

I got it once on one, it wasn't drinking enough water, so I put her beak in the water for a moment, she got the idea. I took her out and washed her feet and bottom in a sink with a hand towel folded in half on the bottom and few inches of warm warm water on top. I let her hang out for a bit to soften it, then took a wet wash cloth to the feet and butt. Here's a photo
