Hello! I just noticed my girl has poo on her feathers. This is the 2nd time this has happened, and I dont know what to do about it. I know she does not sleep on the roost with the other 4 hens, even though I have placed her on the roost many times before. Is there any way I can get to to sleep on the roost or remove the poor from her feathers?
Thx for any replies!

Hello, how old is she? She may just "not get it" yet. Make sure the roost rails are higher the the nest boxes. I would give her some yogurt (with live cultures) to fire up her system. She may need a boost if she has a pasty butt. To get the poo out take a damp papertowl or cloth and hold, blot and gently wipe the poo until to softens up and comes out. This may take a few minutes. Be extra sure the girls vent is free of poo blockage this can cause huge problems(death) Hope this helps

Can you put up a second roost for her? The other chickens could be picking on her. What kind of a roost do you have? We use 2 x 4's on the flat side. Our girls love this because it gives them plenty of room.
