poop board and roost above nest boxes

Would it be ok if the nest boxes were below my roost as long as there was a poop board above it? The poop board would extend out further than the nest box by about 4 inches. Appreciate your input. Amy

Yes your nest boxes should always be lower then the roost If they are not the will roost on the nest boxes and you don't want that for sure. As long as it is wider then the nest boxes it should be ok.

I have one of my feeders under my poop board and no poo gets on it so I think nest boxes would work great. I also have some storage bins under mine and they stay clean too.

This should definitely work. My only thought would be ease of egg collection for you. Will you have to be crawling on the coop floor to get your eggs?

I am planning to put the nest boxes 18" off the floor, so the roof of the nest box, or the poop deck will be at 30" or so. I will put the roost above that. I shouldn't be crawling on the floor. Thank you so much for all your replys. We will start building more this afternoon. It is a beautiful day here in Minnesota. Amy
