I am in the final stages of building my 4x6 coop which is 2ft off the ground with a sloped roof. The human door is on the 4ft end. I have the roost on the 6ft low side of the coop. I would like to put a poop board under my roost. It would be 6ft long but not sure how wide it should be. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

I would make it 2 feet wide. The length of roost bar. I also would opt to make it like a drawer, so it can be slid out. Also make it to hold a granular substance, like Sweet PDZ, that you can rake out the gumdrops with a kitty litter scoop.
Ask anything else you are not sure of.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :highfive:

I agree that it should be at least 2' wide with the roost centered along the width. I have mine 13" over the height of the poop board. That makes it easy to run my metal cat litter scoop under it and keeps the roosted birds up high enough to make it hard to get a good head shot at the birds running along the board looking for a spot on the roost.
However, mine are stationary as I have no need to remove them. I just remove the poop then add a little bit of fresh granular Sweet PDZ about every 10 days.

Ok, thank you. My coop is 4ft wide so that would be half the width of the coop. I want to make sure they have enough room to get down from the roost. How high from the floor should the DB be from the floor and height of roost from DB? Thank you! Pics for reference. A bit messy, sorry.

Hard to fit a PB in a 4' width, as you've found out.
Might be able to add a small ramp for egress...low end of ramp on a 16" concrete block.
How high PB should be depends on where your nests are.
How high roost over PB depends on how you clean PB.

My roost is 8" above PB, this catches 98% of poops.
I use a short handled hoe to pull stuff towards front of board to sift.
Here's some posts about it, they're kind of old, but changes are noted.
...and the threads these posts are in has a ton of examples of poop boards.
