I have 13 hens and 3 black sex links- all of that variety and no other breeds- have runny poop that gets stuck and builds up in their feathers near the vent. It took me a while to figure out that the runny poop was coming from the same chickens. A few weeks ago when I really noticed it I got ahold of them and cleaned them up. They had balls of manure about the size of golf balls stuck in their feathers which was pretty gross and not fun for them or me to clean up. I sprayed everyone down in case they had mites or something. I didn’t notice anything crawling on their skin but it looked like there was some type of build up at the base of their feathers. Anyway, the poop is starting to build up again. Is there anything else I should check for or do?

Hard to say why they, and only they, have juicy poops that stick to feathers.
Butt(haha!) I trim the feathers on birds that can't keep themselves clean.
Cut the dirty feathers off to about 1/2" away from skin, around and below the vent.
Should help immensely and way easier, IMO, than giving them a bath. :sick

Thank you! I thought about doing that but wasn’t sure.
