Poop butt

Hi! So I am a first time chick mama and I am realizing the poop is building up on their butts. It is so hard I can’t get it off with a damp rag. What is the best thing to do to clean it off?

Soak their bums in warm water, like in a bowl for a few minutes, check to see if it's softening, clean off softened poop. Repeat as necessary

do I need to worry about them getting cold? They are only 4 days old. I can do it near a heat lamp.

I use warm water and a q-tip…, I let the q-tip get saturated with water and just kind of saturate the poo with it. I feel like it keeps them from being cold.. lol maybe not, but I found this easier for us than soaking in a bowl…

Thank you! I used a dropper to get their bits wet then waited a bit, then put them in the bow only if they still needed it. That poop is stubborn!
