Hi guys, we have two, six day old chicks who just had pasty butt two days ago and we cleaned it off with warm water and a damp paper towel, but now its back again on the same two chicks! Does anyone know what's happening and how to stop it?

I think you just have to keep it clean daily till it stops. I have seen some recommendation to use a little olive oil or vaseline on/around the area also.

I just dealt with this for a week. I used sav-a-chick probiotics in their water for a day, then normal water, then back to probiotics until it went away. But I still had to check multiple times a day, and often clean the chick 2 or 3 times every day.

Evaluate the temperatures in your brooder, higher temps can contribute to pasty butt. Chicks should have ample space to get away from heat, especially if using a heat lamp.
