I have recently changed my feed to Purina layer crumbles. I had been doing a mix with oyster shell previously but felt they avoided it more once the oyster shell was in. So switched to this feed. Since I’ve started one of my chicks has a reddish brown poop. It’s solid this color. I’ve looked at pics of cocci poop and it doesn’t look like any of the pics I’ve seen. However, I do feel like it could be blood. Would it hurt to treat the girls with amprolium if they don’t have cocci to just be on the safe side?

It would not hurt them if they don’t have it.

How old are your birds and when was the last/most recent time you brought ANY new birds home?

Cocci is not the same as coccidiosis.
Cocci is a bacteria that can not be treated with Corid.

No new births introduced to them, I have them separated from my older chickens. They are about 6 months older and recently had started changing their feed bc they started laying
