I am new to chickening! I have 6 birds-- mixed types but all from the same place-- approx. 20 weeks old. Every day when I check on them in the run, there are numerous (8ish) orange, runny (very loose) poops. I checked the infamous poop chart, and it looks like ceacal poop, but I am concerned about the frequency and amount when other people I know with chickens look at me like I am crazy when I describe it to them leading me to believe something is off with my girls. That said-- they are active, alert, and seem perfectly normal and happy. As far as feed goes, they get layer pellets, a handful of scratch, and some veg/fruit every other day (quarter of a small melon, strawberry tops, cabbage, etc). I did try taking away the veg/fruit for a couple days, and they still had the same amount of orange/loose poop. I have also seen different birds doing the pooping. Thoughts?
