Poop Door

RoeDylanda, Thanks for your kind words about our coop. The poop tray came from Gardner's Supply. Here is the web site:

The 2 x 4 are the winter roost which keeps their feet warmer. I think larger diameter branches will work too.

I like the lego model idea, very creative. Good luck...

Right here at BYC I've seen a few references to a poop door and at least two coop drawings that showed the small coop access hole for chickens (with a ladder under it) and called it a poop door. I'm starting to think it's a common typo, as you're suggesting.

Thanks everyone, for the large output of input. I appreciate it.

I haven't started drawing coop plans yet ... but I want it to have a small foot print because I have a small yard. I'm entertaining the idea of run fencing designed to move so that I can let the chickens loose on a new patch of ground while the old run re-grows grass and absorbs the poop. I've seen cattle farms rotate their pasture land with electric fencing on RFD-TV. It's all coagulating in my brain right now ... and may not be practical in the real world. :^)

I've been backtracking and trying to find the drawings with poop doors, or the text that included poop doors. I can't find any of the stuff that I was seeing the other day. I firmly deny that the gin and tonic had anything to do with it.
