There's always one wise acre in the bunch!;-)

Hey.... it's my thread.

Let's not fight over the poop, LOL!

I won't if you answer my question. How much is it to ship 6 Marans to the Kansas City area?

This is my new blue roo out of the Wade Jeane line.

And my blue copper pullet. All of my blacks were killed by the neighbors dog and a hawk attack.

I'm sorry I have to change my blurp--I gave all my chickens to a friend in Dec and am now starting over, I do have Marans but they are 4 days old! I need to learn I can't be without my chooks! I highly recommend BWalden's eggs, they rock, high hatch rate and he is super and eggs reasonable! I believe he has some now.

I've been getting mine from Chicken Scratch Poultry in Illinois. I've been very happy with their birds but would like to mix it up a bit.

Though no one else has said so, the two photos are not normal chicken droppings. Normal droppings are semi-solid and form a small pile. The lower portion of the pile is usually green-brown with a few yellow specks(corn). The upper portion of the pile is white-that's the bird's urine (uric acid). THe photos look as if they have blood in the stools, especially the upper photo. Coccidiosis is a real possibility. If you have a state veterinary diagnostic lab in your state contact them about examining the feces for coccidia. Alternatively, contact me directly and I will assist you in establishing a diagnosis of coccidia. Or place the birds on Amprolium or selemectin and see if they improve.

black poop I would say is bloody poop, otherwise something you are feding them besides regua;lr chickenfood

I posted over a week ago that I had forgotten about feeding them raw beets. Also, I've talked with several acquaintances in my area that raise chickens on a large scale and they said it looks fine. There are dozens of different types of poop that are normal and not just the green and white kind. Thanks anyway.

That poop chart is also wrong. Poop charts will definetly be on my "Top Ten Misinformation" list, lol.
