I'd guess one or two of the chickens just processes things a little different. In short order you'll probably completely ignore the poop status.
I'm on the other end of the scale on feed issues. I grew up hearing "chickens won't eat anything that will hurt them". I'm sure that's an overstatement, but it came from a time when chickens were fed who knows what, and scrounged for the rest.
Our chickens run loose all day and get into compost, cow manure, and everything imaginable, and never seem to have a dietary problem. Part of their function is bug control. The poop can get pretty crazy at times, though.
