My pullets are 16 weeks and some days. I read to expose their nesting boxes beginning the 16th week. Last night was their first night exposed to the nesting boxes and this morning two boxes were full of poop. The pullets have established roosting on their bars at night for several weeks now. Should I block the nesting boxes off for another week or two? Put in ceramic eggs to give pullets a hint? Other suggestions? Thank you.

My BO are 16wks, I have the nest box blocked and only recently been curious. I choose not to open until I see red comb/wattle & they start to squat for me. Don't like cleaning poop out of the nest box. Others may disagree but this works for me.
