So I have about 25 chickens. 2 are full grown and the rest are 13 weeks. I let the 'free range' in my fenced back yard.

Well the 29th of this month I am having a birthday party for my son. We are getting one of those big blowup waterslides.

Im going to mow it 2 -3x before then and if it helps to have the water sprinkler out there everyday....
I was just wondering how long it will take chicken poop to clear up out of the yard..
Dont want the little ones getting it smashed between their toes

I have a fenced in yard for my chickens to range when they can't free range. Every night I go out with the hose and "wash" the grass. I take a hose and put it on jet stream and go around washing the poo away. Keeps flies down and your kids won't step on it and less for the dogs to eat!!

Well my backyard is close to an acre..
I cant hose all that down... Id be out there for 3 days trying to find all that chicken poo!

Ive been keeping them in the coop for the past week and will keep them there till after the party.

We too let our's free-range in the yard.

I have found that after a good rain, the poop is washed away.
Maybe you can just head out there with a watering can and wash away what you see?

Once you have a good rain I don't think you have to worry. The big clunkers that dry out are much harder to wash away. A sprinkler in the yard would also help if rain is scarce

Well, then...can you wash away the area where the party stuff is gonna be?? I have over an acre too, but just do where we are most. Poor chickens are stuck in a coop!

That's a long time for them to be "cooped" up! No run to let them out in?

No. The yard is thier run

Hope your coop is big enough.

I agree ^^. that is a long time to keep them in the coop until after the party......... 7 days from now? Unless it rains, the poop should be dry just after a night.
