Poop on eggs

Gosh, locking her in the nest feels heartbreaking....she is very strong-willed, strong personality - but super sweet too (follows me around non stop). We are buddies but think doing that may change that, yikes! Obviously, this world of chickens is all new to me...but just doesn't feel right, but I can be a softy (I know....tough love.....I may have to do it). We did figure out a way to squeeze in another nest box yesterday and I walked in there with her and she jumped in it and poked around and talked up a storm. I put a fake egg in it and she wrapped her claw around it and started trying to peck/break it (caught me a little by surprise). Anyway, she knows about the nest box and the other one.....but she used her poop board again this morning :-( I am going to go outside and start poking around to see if she is actually standing on the poop board and laying or if she is holding it in and it's dropping from the roost.
